Jonas Brothers’s Father Kevin Jonas Sr. Opens Up About Battle With Colon Cancer

Sometimes, you have to put family before everything else, as the Jonas brothers proved recently when they dropped everything to be with their father, who was battling colon cancer. Kevin Jonas, Sr., the patriarch of the Jonas family and father to Kevin, Joe, Nick, and Frankie, was reportedly diagnosed with colon cancer in March of this year. Now, speaking publicly about his illness for the first time, he told NBC affiliate WCNC that his sons were all "shaken" by the news, and immediately rushed to his side.

All of the brothers understandably rearranged their schedules in order to be with their father when he went into surgery. "Frankie came home from school, Nick came from L.A., Joe flew directly from Japan," Kevin Sr. explained. "They canceled their schedules, moved important things." It turns out that the boys even accompanied him to the hospital where he received his initial procedure, undoubtedly creating a hubbub among workers who were surprised to see some of the biggest celebrities walk through the doors.

Fortunately, Kevin Sr.’s surgery went well, and his prognosis is looking bright. He will need to receive chemotherapy, but he has a positive outlook – especially with the support of his family. It sounds like he has all the reinforcements he needs, and his sons continue to show that their father’s health matters to them above all else.
